JUNIOR TEAMS IN GOOD FORM
The Junior men's season is now well under way for A and B teams. The A team under newly appointed manager Scott Haworth kicked off their campaign on Thursday last when they entertained Geraldine's at Moatville and staged a late recovery to earn 3 league points when two injury time goals from Kenneth O'Donoghue ensured an excellent 2-1 win. The following Sunday in their game away to Croom to lost 1-0 in a closely contested game. They play another home tie on Thursday against Granville Rags kick off
6-30pm. The B team under the management of Dave Shanahan and Charlie McCarthy have had a great start to the League campaign they entertained Granville Rgs B on Saturday evening and secured 3 points with a fine 3-1 win with goals from William Dillon, Michael O'Brien and Gary Ward on Tue last they travelled to play Aisling/Annacotty and had a fine 1-0 win the crucial goal coming from Gary Ward.

The Junior men's season kicked off on Tuesday last when our B team under the management of Dave Shanahan and Charlie McCarthy played out a 1-1 draw with Shannon Hibernians at Moatville. The A team under newly appointed manager Scott Haworth kick off their campaign tonight when they entertain Geraldine's at Moatville kick off 6-30pm.This will be followed by a game away to Croom on Sunday morning and another home tie on Thursday week against Granville Rgs. The B team will entertain Granville Rgs B on Saturday evening and travel to play isling/Annacotty on Tue next. Best of luck to both squads for the season.

RULES & GUIDELINES FOR UNDER AGE PLAYING
MEMBERS 2009-10
• Membership for season 2009-10 is €30 (Maximum payment of €50 if more than one player from the same family) • Players must pay full membership fee on completion of Registration and Club Membership forms. • Under no circumstances will non members be allowed train or play for the club. • Players must give commitment to their own age group first. • All injuries must be recorded and submitted to Tim Fitzgerald by team manager/official. • Before receiving physio treatment players must get a signed letter of referral from a doctor in order to be covered to claim insurance cover. • Players must inform Tim Fitzgerald of any on going treatment for injuries and the likely duration and costs. • Club Physiotherapist is Anita O'Connell 063-81106 we have agreed a special reduced rate for treatment of club members. • All insurance matters to be referred to Tim Fitzgerald 087-2880824
All players in Charleville A.F.C. should undertake to:
•play fairly, do their best and have fun •be on their best behaviour at all times •abide by all club rules •make high standards of Fair Play the standard others want to follow •respect opponents, they are not the enemy, they are partners in a sporting event •shake hands before and after the match, whoever wins •give opponents a hand if they are injured, put the ball out of play so they can get attention •accept apologies from opponents when they are offered •respect fellow team members and support them both when they do well and when things go wrong •treat players from minority groups with the same respect you show other people •be modest in victory and be gracious in defeat- 'Be A Sport' •Approach the Club Children's Officer Eileen Quealey O'Connell 086-8539258 with any questions or concerns they might have. Coaches and parents should encourage children to speak out and support them in doing so
Children in Charleville A.F.C. should not: • cheat • use abusive language, or argue with, the referee, officials, team mates or opponents • use violence, use physical contact only when it is allowed within the rules • bully • tell lies about adults or other children • spread rumours • take banned substances to improve performance • keep secrets about any person who may have caused them harm • behave in any manner that may bring the name of Charleville A.F.C into disrepute
In Charleville A.F.C. we want children in our club to have fun and develop skills in a safe and Fair Play environment where standards of behaviour are just as important as winning.
